Lithium-Ion Electric Forklifts Gain Traction in Logistics Sector, Diesel Models See Market Share Decline

As the logistics industry shifts toward greener and more efficient operations, lithium-ion electric forklifts are rapidly capturing market share, gradually squeezing out diesel forklifts to become the new mainstay in the warehousing and logistics sector.

Compared with traditional diesel forklifts, they have distinct environmental advantages. They produce no exhaust emissions during operation and run much quieter, significantly improving the working environment in warehouses. They are also more cost-effective: using electricity costs 60% less than diesel, and their simple structure with fewer wearing parts cuts daily maintenance expenses by half.

Their performance is not inferior either. Lithium-ion batteries deliver strong instant power, enabling smoother loading operations. Fast-charging technology also allows for on-the-go recharging without disrupting work. Coupled with policy support for green equipment and stricter environmental requirements, more and more enterprises are switching to electric forklifts. Since the start of this year, the market share of such forklifts has exceeded 55%, and the replacement trend is growing stronger.
